Alpena Civic Theatre is a nonprofit, volunteer-powered community theatre serving Alpena, Michigan, and the surrounding Northeast Michigan communities.
Our mission is simple: bring people together through the creativity, excitement, and shared experience of live theatre.
From laugh-out-loud comedies and captivating dramas to musicals and unforgettable performances, our productions showcase the talents and dedication of people from right here in our community.
But Alpena Civic Theatre is about more than what happens under the stage lights. It's about friendships formed during rehearsals, volunteers working together behind the scenes, and audiences gathering to experience something special.
We believe everyone deserves the opportunity to enjoy, explore, and participate in the performing arts, regardless of their experience or background.

For generations, Alpena Civic Theatre has been bringing stories to life and sharing the magic of live theatre with the Alpena community and beyond.
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization operated entirely by volunteers, our theatre has always been about more than putting on a great show. It's about bringing people together, creating lasting memories, and sharing the joy of live entertainment with everyone who walks through our doors.
Over the years, our stage has welcomed countless actors, directors, set builders, costume designers, volunteers, and audiences. Productions have come and gone, sets have been built and taken down, and new faces have stepped into the spotlight alongside familiar ones.
Through it all, one thing has never changed: the passion and dedication of the people who make it happen.
Today, Alpena Civic Theatre proudly continues that tradition, celebrating local talent, welcoming newcomers, and keeping the performing arts alive in Northeast Michigan.
We're a little theatre with a whole lot of heart, and our greatest joy is seeing people come through our doors, enjoy a show, and leave with a smile.
